BREAMORE artist Olivia Keith has been awarded the Edwin Young trophy at Salisbury library for her magnificent charcoal and pastel drawing entitled SGA Open Day.

The trophy, a bronze chicken and her chicks, is awarded annually to an artwork exhibited in Salisbury Group of Artists’ annual summer exhibition, considered to be the best in show. This year, the entries were judged by Sue Finniss who also awarded highly commended to paintings by Barbara Martin, Anne Thompson and Graham Savage.

Olivia works mainly in charcoal and attends events such as country fairs, jazz festivals, arts festivals and weddings for her inspiration.

The trophy is her first artistic award and the work was undertaken during the SGA open day while Wilton Royal British Legion Band played at the open concert.

The exhibition runs until July 25 at the library.
